It is my pleasure to announce the 2006 winners of the Kaiser Permanente "Excellence in Teaching" Award.

Dr. Omar Abdeen, formerly with the department of Medicine, was chosen by the senior class.

Dr. Bruce Potenza, Assistant Clinical Professor, department of Surgery, was chosen by the junior class.

For the second year in a row, the sophomore class has chosen Dr. Nora Laiken, Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Student Affairs.

And for the seventh time, the freshman class has given the award to Dr. Lawrence Hansen, Professor, Departments of Pathology and Neurosciences.

In the housestaff category, the senior and junior classes combined their votes and selected Dr. Rahul Jandial and Dr. Michael Takamura.

Congratulations and thank you to the winners for their valuable contributions to teaching.
