Congratulations to Jeffrey Lee
Jeffrey Lee was recognized for his outstanding research abstract and will present his poster and oral presentation at the
Western Student Medical Research Forum (WSMRF) meeting being held in Monterey and Carmel, CA from January 30 to February 2, 2008.
The WSMRF and Resident's Forum are held in conjunction with the Western Regional Inter-Society Meetings of the Western American
Federation for Medical Research (WAFMR), the Western Association of Physicians, the Western Society for Clinical Investigation (WSCI),
the Western Society for Pediatric Research, and the California Thoracic Society.
More than 350 research abstracts were submitted from medical students across the western United States and Canada. Jeff was one of
20 medical students awarded the 2008 WAFMR/WSCI Subspecialty Award for his work on PTEN's role in colorectal cancer and
hamartomatous polyps. Jeff previously received this award at the 2005 WSMRF meeting.
The project was funded by his NIH Clinical Research Fellowship which allowed him to continue his translational research with
Dr. John Carethers while also pursuing graduate coursework in obtaining a Masters in Clinical Research.
Our congratulations to Jeff for receiving this esteemed honor for his research. We commend him on this wonderful achievement!
