Congratulations to Thomas Hemingway ('02)
for receiving the Fretom Research Fund award!

Congratulations to Thomas Hemingway for receiving the '01-'02 Fretom Research Fund award! This award has been given to a graduating 4th year student receiving the highest score on the Clinical Practice Exam. The founders of the Fretom Research Fund, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas H. McGavack, wish that these funds be used to assist and encourage a worthy student to complete his or her studies in one or more branches of the medical sciences. Thomas was awarded honors in numerous preclinical and clinical classes and scored above the 95th percentile on the USMLE Step 1. He was a coordinator of the DOC Anti-Tobacco project from April of '99 - April of '00 and has utilized his Spanish speaking abilities both as a Spanish tutor and while serving a mission in Guatemala for two years. Thomas has successfully demonstrated an excellent ability to integrate complex concepts and formulate treatment plans, which exemplifies the ideals of the medical profession.

Well done, Thomas!
